The Great Debate (March 3, 2026)
The 2026 Great Debate Moot was: “In today’s geopolitically fragmented world, should international finance centres continue to position themselves as neutral facilitators of cross‑border trade and finance?” The teams showcased their expertise and passionately defended their positions, offering the audience an evening of sharp thinking, compelling arguments, and spirited competition.
The event also featured a panel discussion on “Neutrality in a Fragmented World: Can IFCs Maintain the Middle Ground?” This engaging exchange brought together panellists, debate participants, and audience members, creating a dynamic space for live interaction and diverse perspectives.

Featuring keynote speaker Professor Michael Levi of Cardiff University, the event brought together BVI leading experts who discuss evolving money‑laundering risks, shifting transparency standards, and emerging compliance expectations in a rapidly changing regulatory environment.
